Tip of the Day 2/15/11

In honor of my Yada Yada Sisters and our Book club meeting tonight today's tip is to step out of your comfort zone and read a book in a genre or by an author you have never read before. Unless you find the book offensive (or as in my case frightening, I have nightmares easily) make your way all the way through.  Check with your library or churches in the area for book clubs. It is a great way to meet new people and have an excuse to read. I have been blessed by the friendship of the women in our club for almost 6 years. We come from very different backgrounds and we range in age from 20's to 50's. Happy reading.

Tip of the Day 2/13/11

Remember "Love is patient and kind, it does not envy or boast, is not proud, rude, or self seeking, not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs, does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth, always protects, trusts, hopes, and preserves. Love never fails." Without it we are nothing. 1 Corinthians 13

Tip of the Day 2/11/11

Let's Dee-clutter our mind today, shake off the cobwebs that have formed over the past 2 weeks of major winter blahs-Start planning for Spring. What type of garden do I want this year, What new activity would I like to try outdoors, What should we do for Spring Break. Get the family involved in a brain storming session and do not discount any suggestions.

Tip of the Day 2/10/11

Divide your house into cleaning zones and clean a small portion each day. You will discover it stays cleaner and you are not overwhelmed or exhausted cleaning it all in one day. Try to clean the zone in 15 - 20 minutes, then choose 1 extra 15 minute project each day to accomplish. Your house will be under control and you will feel Dee-cluttered.

Tip of the Day 2/9/11

Help pull yourself out the winter duldrums by adding a nice spring color top under the layers of clothes you are wearing.

Tip of the Day 2/8/11

Dining Room or Kitchen chairs are not part of our furniture we give much thought to. Today dust or wash down the chairs, if removable cushions-wash (be sure to use a tennis ball or shoe when drying or dry flat), if upholstered-vacuum or use a sticky roller to clean, rotate chair locations at the table-different weight and body shape will help with the wear on the upholstery.

Tip of the Day 2/7/11

Create a "Return Box" for items left where they do not belong. Anything not claimed and put away by it's owner by Saturday is moved to a "Give Away Box." Come up with a fair "redemption policy" to have an item returned after it is moved to the Give Away Box. This keeps the house neat and teaches responsibility and good stewardship as well as neatness. Everyone wins.
