Tip of the Day 5/1/12

May Day is not the most controversial holiday originating from pagan practices, but it does stir up some. My personal stand is that anything can be redeemed for good, I am living proof because Jesus redeemed even me. So, I think today is a great opportunity to show some love and spread some joy to someone in need of cheer by sharing a May Day basket. You more than likely have a basket in your house that is not being used and you just haven't gotten around to taking it to the thrift store yet. Why not pick up a small bouquet or plant and deliver a pretty May Day basket to a deserving recipient. Maybe it is a cranky neighbor, a lonely widower, the new family on the block, etc.; we all know of someone that will have their day brightened by your act of kindness. Happy May Day everyone.
Word for Today, Trouble: This is not a very uplifting word to start the beautiful month of May with unless you think about the promise it holds. In this word I see the faithfulness of my Savior, and see that He is real, and I see that He desires good for me. I know He is real and faithful because He does not sugar coat life in this world. He told us, "In the world you WILL have trouble, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." This is reality. I also know He desires good for me and I will know that good as I rest in Him. If my life was without trouble I would have no need for a Savior. If I look at the trouble that WILL come my way in the light of it being an opportunity to draw closer to my Jesus, I will find the peace that passes understanding. "The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever."
